The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), which was founded in 1993 to
support research on extending life and treating age-related disease claims that
the stance "aging is natural and inevitable" is both arcane
A4M further states, "The disabilities associated
with normal aging are caused by physiological dysfunction”.
Addressing physiological dysfunction in mature adults is the function of Age Management
medicine, which is best defined as the practice of preventive medicine, through
a synergy of hormone modulation, optimal nutrition (including supplementation),
and sustained exercise.
Hormone modulation involves adjusting downward those hormones that accelerate the
aging process and adjusting upward those hormones that reverse the symptoms of aging.
Our goals in age management medicine are simply to enhance quality of life, and
to extend the potential life span of each of our patients.
Some of the things we aim to accomplish for our patients are to:
- Eliminate blood sugar disorders
- Enhance immunity
- Decrease the frequency of illness
- Improve the cholesterol profile
- Accelerate wound healing
- Protect against cancer and heart
- Improve skin tone
- Increase muscle mass, bone density,
- Increase energy and aerobic capacity
- Elevate mood
- Improve sleep
- Reduce blood sugar and body fat
To accomplish these measures, we use a number of tools; but our primary tool is
education. An informed patient is able to make better decisions about his/her health,
so he/she is also given wide-ranging material to read about hormone therapy, nutrition,
and the importance of lifestyle issues.
We here at AGE
MANAGEMENT USA believe that a conscientious program of lifestyle
management, particularly in nutrition and exercise, along with conservative, controlled
hormone management in adults can have substantial positive benefits.
These benefits range from improvement in cholesterol and blood sugar levels to improvements
in body composition and bone density. These are the outcomes that will result in
the prevention of disease and the extension of potential life span.
Both men and women who are part of the program have experienced improvements by
their own perspective in categories such as:
- Sense of well being
- Quality of sleep
- Energy and productivity
- Libido and sexual performance
- Frequency of illness
- Memory, skin tone and facial appearance
We form a long lasting relationship with our patients, supporting them each step
of the program and consider it a privilege to help them to live happier, healthier
